DAY 6
Apple Brisbane is located inside the MacArthur Chambers building, a heritage-listed structure built to house the Australian Mutual Provident Society (AMP). The Sicilian marble statue above Apple’s door today is a remnant of the AMP Society and is inscribed with its motto: Amicus certus in re incerta (a certain friend in uncertain times). The figures represent the goddess of Peace and Plenty, the male figure of Labor, and a wife and child.
During World War II, MacArthur Chambers was the headquarters of the Allied Forces in the South West Pacific thanks to its central location and concrete roof. Today, the building anchors the MacArthur Central shopping mall.
Zachory is a portrait and travel photographer capturing moments in Melbourne.
Emily creates miniature houses and tiny furniture. When not teaching property law, she explains the process behind her models with online tutorials.
Dana is an Apple collector and Photoshops retrofuturistic images to imagine classic Macs that never existed.
Kate shoots fine art photography using infrared technology to produce color-drenched images.
Will is a WWDC 2019 scholar and the developer behind the popular Apple Watch Twitter app Chirp.
